Art Classes at the IHMAC
ONGOING CLASSES:
OPEN STUDIO WORKSHOP
Open Studio is open to any artist who would like to work on an art project of their choice. Just bring something you wish to work on and work with other artists.
Open Studio is the 2nd Monday of each month and runs from 9:00 am until noon. The cost is $5 per person. Payment will be collected the day of Open Studio.
The camaraderie and helpful suggestions offered by other artists attending are the reasons IHMAC artists keep coming back for more. Join them in this relaxing, light-filled atmosphere!
Watercolor Workshop with Joan Allen
Joan Allen’s Watercolor Techniques Workshop is from 10 am to Noon on the third Saturday of each month. The cost is $30 ($25 for museum members). Participants age 10 through adults will learn basic watercolor techniques and create their own piece of artwork. Artists should bring their own art supplies, including watercolor paper (once you register a supplies list will be emailed to you). Complete registration by emailing Donna Rothgeb at drothgeb62@gmail.com.
Joan Allen
As a graduate of the University of Alabama I love working with the elements of art. I use many colors and line with watercolors and acrylics.
Abstracts are color and line also and express freedom in movement and feelings, constant joy in creating life and color into the canvas. I enjoy teaching techniques in painting and drawing and have been teaching for many years.
